Proverbs 10:13
“In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.” Those that have Wisdom, will speak about Wisdom. Those that have Jesus, will speak about Him. Unashamed. Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Our words should speak of Christ. Our works should speak of Christ. As children of God, everything we do should give Christ the glory He alone deserves. If we do not speak of Christ, how will others hear about Him? It is our responsibility to tell them. Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Those that do not receive Him, are void of understanding. Several times in the Old Testament, a rod is a picture of the Word of God. Moses held the Rod as God parted the Red Sea. In Psalm 23, David spoke of the comfort that the Rod of God brings. The Word of God warns us of the punishment that awaits those who choose to reject the Gospel of Christ and His free Gift of salvation. God will speak and condemn their eternal fate before He casts them into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” We must speak the Truth of the Word of God in love as we seek to warn those who are void of understanding before it is eternally too late.
