2 Corinthians 5:14
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:” From time to time it is good to stop and reflect on what motivates us. What motives, if any, do we have? Why do we do what we do? The Apostle Paul in his second letter to the church at Corinth, writes of the urgency that he felt because of the love of Christ. He was motivated by His love. When we evaluate ourselves with the questions above, is the love of Christ considered? His love for us. 2 Corinthians 5:15 “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” Our love for Him. 1 John 4:19 “We love him, because he first loved us.” If we are not motivated by both directions of the love of Christ, there is something or someone that has taken His place. Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Are you motivated to serve Him? Tell someone about what He has done for you. Encourage a friend you know is struggling by pointing them to Him. Remind yourself and those around you of the love of Christ today.
