A Summary of the Book of Proverbs
It may be stating the obvious, but if there was one word for the Word found in the Book of Proverbs if would be Wisdom. From the first chapter to the last, and all throughout, we see the importance of having Wisdom and the difference Wisdom makes. Without Wisdom, we have nothing. John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” With Wisdom, we can do everything. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Wisdom begins when we fear Him. Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” Those that seek Wisdom are sure to find Him. Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Wisdom is found within the Word of God. Proverbs 2:1-6 “My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” Walk in Wisdom today, and every day. Bible Reading: Isaiah 37-38 | Romans 8 | Proverbs 25
