Matthew 13:58
“And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Unbelief Is Has A Cost They had the opportunity to see many mighty works done in Nazareth; yet, they missed out because of their unbelief. Mark 6:5-6 “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.” Does God marvel at our unbelief? If we choose not to believe, He will find someone who does and they will receive the blessing. What have we missed out on because of our unbelief that God could do a mighty work in our lives? Unbelief Can Be Changed Mark 9:24 “And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” This father had faith in Jesus, but admitted that he still had some unbelief within his heart. Christ not only cast the spirit from the man, but He compassionately took him by the hand, lifted him up, and delivered him to his father. He asked for grace and His grace was sufficient. Our unbelief can be changed when we bring our need to Jesus. His grace is sufficient to meet our every need. Bible Reading: Ezekiel 44-46 | Hebrews 3 | Psalm 126

Luke 8:25
“And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.” The disciples were in a storm and they were fearful. Christ was with them, and yet they still had fear they would perish because of their situation. They awoke the Master and were rebuked because of their lack of faith as He brought peace to the sea. Sometimes we need rebuked for our lack of faith as the Lord is working to still the storm in our lives. Where is your faith? Evaluate your faith today. No Faith - Complete disbelief is disobedience. Mark 4:40 “And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” Little Faith - Partial belief is still disbelief. Matthew 8:26 “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Misdirected Faith – Belief in the wrong object is disbelief. Psalm 118:8 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” Later in this same chapter we read of the true faith: Luke 8:45-46 “And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.” The faith of the Woman With An Issue Of Blood stopped Christ in His tracks. May we all have faith that gets the Lord’s attention. Luke 8:47-48 “And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” If we place true faith in the right Source we too can be made whole. “And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.” It has been said that we should come apart before we fall apart. Christ invited the disciples into a desert place to rest, but in order to rest they had to come apart. In order to separate ourselves, we must often depart into another place. Mark 6:32 “And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.” The disciples could find no place of leisure due to all the people around them. Where could they go? Christ has reserved them a desert place for them to rest, and He would go with them. Sometimes the Lord will send us to a desert place in order for us to get alone with Him. Mark 6:34 “And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.” News had spread so much about Christ and His miracles that they could not get alone for long. He was moved with compassion toward the people, and saw them as sheep having no shepherd. He began to teach them, and they listened. Oftentimes it is a desert place where we can learn the most from the Lord. Does the Lord have to bring us into a desert place in order to get our attention so that we will listen to Him? Mark 6:38 “He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.” Christ can work miracles within a desert place. Christ knew that the disciples needed to rest, but He also knew where they could find true rest…in Him. After they rested just one day with Him, they saw Him feed the multitude of 5,000 with just the lunch of a little lad. The disciples brought the loaves of bread and fishes to Him. They saw Him bless and brake the bread. Christ handed the food to the disciples to set before the people so they could eat. After they were all filled, it was the disciples that took up the miraculous twelve baskets of fragments. One for each of them to marvel and remember the miracle that had just taken place. When the Lord brings us into a desert place, we can feel uncertain and confused; but He always has a purpose. If you find yourself in a desert place, rest in Him and allow Him to fulfill His purpose in your life. Bible Reading: Ezekiel 39-40 | Hebrews 1 | Psalm 124 |
