Proverbs 12:24-25
“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.” The cure to any burden, fear, or sorrow, is a Good Word. God is Good, and therefore His Word is Good. His Word is Good for our pain. His Word is Good for our pleasures. His Word is Good for our blessings. His Word is Good for our burdens. His Word is Good for our trials. His Word is Good for our triumphs. His Word is Good for every thing we need. Whatever you require today, He is the Answer. Rather than delaying or denying His Word, run and rest in Him today. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” If your heart is heavy today, rest in the Word and let Him bring you gladness. Bible Reading: Isaiah 61-62 | John 7 | Proverbs 11

Proverbs 12:20-21
“Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.” When we are counseled from the Word of God, we will find peace in the midst of our circumstance. That peace, the peace of God brings joy. We can rejoice in Him, regardless of what is happening in our lives, when we remember that He is in control. Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” The peace of God keeps our hearts and minds focused on Christ. The Word must be applied to our lives in everything that we do. The places we go. The company we keep. The words we speak. Proverbs 12:22-23 “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.” Those that “deal truly” are those that live truthfully by faith. Could that be said of you today? Our faith must not lay in ourselves or those around us, but in the One Who gave us everything and everyone that we have. A prudent man keeps quiet when need be, but he also speaks the Truth of his faith regardless of the consequences. Live truthfully today, and proclaim your faith in Him. “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.” When we rely on our opinion of ourselves through our own eyes, we become as fools. The importance of Biblical counsel cannot be understated. God gives us people to help guide us in the way He desires us to go. We must surround ourselves with people who point us to Him through His Word. Proverbs 12:17-19 “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue [is] but for a moment.” We need people in our lives who will speak the Truth to us. The Wisdom of the Word of God must be in the vocabulary of anyone we call our friend. Do you speak the Truth to your friends? A true friend points you to the Word of God. Evaluate the influence of the people you have in your life. Seek to both speak and live by the Truth of the Word of God. Bible Reading: Isaiah 57-58 | John 5 | Proverbs 9 Proverbs 12:12-14
“The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.” A net of faith will drift with the waves of the sea; but if our faith is rooted in Christ we can withstand the storm. Colossians 2:6-8 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Within the Wisdom of the Word we not only find deliverance, but we are able to yield fruit for His glory. A fruitful tree obtains God’s favour and stands tall in service to Him. Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” What are you rooted in today? There are only two options, the Word or the world. Bible Reading: Isaiah 55-56 | John 4 | Proverbs 8 Proverbs 12:8
“A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.” We can either shine for God’s glory or allow our flesh to dim the Light within us. Proverbs 12:9 “He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.” When we honour ourselves we lose even the most common things. Proverbs 12:10 “A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Wisdom and righteousness produce a realization that life is precious. Proverbs 12:11 “He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.” Working hard is rewarding, and it is unwise to follow after idleness. The world is watching how we conduct ourselves each day. Make the choice today to shine your Light for Christ! Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Bible Reading: Isaiah 53-54 | John 3 | Proverbs 7 Proverbs 12:2-7
“A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.” The type of wisdom we possess determines our behavior. Our conduct displays the type of wisdom to which we yield. Good or Wicked? Godly or Worldly? Our thoughts… Our words… Our mouths… Our houses… …all are affected by wisdom. When we wisely conduct ourselves, we obtain God’s favour. Proverbs 8:33-35 “Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.” Wisdom and favour are found in Him. Bible Reading: Isaiah 51-52 | John 2 | Proverbs 6 Proverbs 12:1
“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.” When we love the instruction of Wisdom we will in turn love the knowledge of His Word. We must renew our love for the Word of God every day of our lives. Profitable Instruction The Wisdom of the Word of God is given to us so that our lives my be changed for our good and His glory. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” Powerful Knowledge The Word of God possesses a power unlike any other this world has ever known. We need only apply His Word to our lives to experience that power. Proverbs 2:1-7 “My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.” The Word of God is profitable and powerful, yet it is available to anyone willing to receive It. Romans 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Bible Reading: Isaiah 49-50 | John 1 | Proverbs 5 Proverbs 11:30-31
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.” Many times the Bible refers to fruit as something that is reproduced as a result of something or someone else. In the Garden of Eden and just after the Flood, God spoke the same message to His people. Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply…” Genesis 9:1 “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” When we give others the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we multiply what He has done within our hearts. When we win souls for Him, we are sharing Wisdom with others. Christ told of the Source of the Fruit of Wisdom. John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Christ told of the Purpose of the Fruit of Wisdom. John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” Christ commissioned the Fruit of Wisdom to tell the world about Him. Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” A soul winner brings forth fruit for the glory of the Christ…fruit that remains. “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.” When we serve others to be a blessing, we also receive one ourselves. When we are able to give something, we must not withhold it. When we seek to do right, we will obtain God’s favor. In these verses we find several actions: “watereth” “withholdeth” “selleth” “diligently seeketh” “procureth” “seeketh” “trusteth” “troubleth” Take time to ponder whether they would be considered wise or unwise based upon the context of this passage. Would you be considered wise by the actions you make today? Bible Reading: Isaiah 45-46 | Romans 15 | Proverbs 3 Proverbs 11:21
“Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.” Unity does not displace justice and judgment. Though many be wicked, wrong is wrong. Just a seed of righteousness can make a difference. Proverbs 11:22 “As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.” Just as jewels are not intended for the snouts of pigs, a woman without discretion is unwise. Proverbs 11:23 “The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.” As we delight in the Lord, our desires begin to change according to His will for our lives. The wicked have no delight, and will inevitably face the wrath of God unless they repent of their sin. Proverbs 11:24 “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.” The secret of giving wisely is found when we realize the more we give, the more abundantly our needs will be met. When we lose all that we have for Christ, we will find all we could ever need; yet when we refuse to sacrifice for Him, we will find ourselves empty handed. Delighting in the Lord develops a wise desire to give our lives to Him. Bible Reading: Isaiah 43-44 | Romans 14 | Proverbs 2 |
