Proverbs 15:3
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” Even now, as you read, the Lord is watching. He sees everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly…He sees it all. 2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…” He sees when we praise His Name and shout for joy. He sees when we cannot utter a word without tears. 2 Kings 20:5 “Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee…” He sees when we serve Him with gladness. He sees when we murmur and complain. Jeremiah 16:17 “For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.” He sees who we really are. He sees what we think we are hiding from everyone. He sees when we think no one is watching. He sees where we are going each step of the way. He sees why we choose to do or not do something. In His infinite wisdom, God sees it all. While this is a very convicting thought, it should also encourage us. He cares about us and loves us enough to be aware of our every move. Psalm 33:18-20 “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.” Be thankful today that He sees you. Bible Reading: Lamentations 4-6 | Ephesians 2 | Proverbs 10

Proverbs 15:1-2
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.” Reactions are everything. Much can be said about how we react to people and things. Just like we have a choice in what we say, our reactions are by choice. Rather than react, we can choose to respond with Wisdom. Speaking gently is wise. Daniel 10:19 “And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.” Submitting graciously is wise. Philippians 2:14-16 “Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” Our reactions will either stir up anger or erase it. The choice is ours. React wisely today. Bible Reading: Lamentations 1-3 | Ephesians 1 | Proverbs 9 Proverbs 14:34-35
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.” The state of our nation, and frankly many of our churches, is a modern day example of the Truth within these verses. Judges 17:6 “In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Not much has changed. We live in a day where it is encouraged to live as you please, whatever you deem to be right. Proverbs 21:2 “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.” Our hearts are deceitful and not just wicked, but desperately wicked; yet we rarely admit it. We want to believe we know what is best, but in reality we know nothing in and of ourselves, so therefore we must cling to the Truth. The Truth that can only be found within the pages of the Word of God. Sin brings shame. The pleasures only last for a short season before the inevitable occurs…death. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God is His great mercy has removed the penalty of sin, of only we will accept the gift of His amazing grace. The grace that brings us salvation when we place our faith and trust in the finished work of Christ. His grace and mercy is shown to us because of the King of king’s great love for the world. “He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.” Sin will drive us away from God, but when we see ourselves as sinners we have the opportunity to run to Him. His righteousness gives us hope, for He is our Hope. Because of His death, we have the Blessed Hope of eternal life through Him. 1 John 5:11-13 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” His Word brings us comfort despite our circumstances, for He is our Hope. Because of His death, those that place their trust in Him feel only the shadow. Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Our Hope brings Wisdom to our weary hearts when we seek Him through His Word. Proverbs 14:33 “Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.” Because of His death, we can have Hope today. “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.” The health of our hearts determines the fate of our lives. Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” Our hearts are born diseased by the sin of man, in need of the cure of forgiveness. This cure can only be found through the blood of the Healer. Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Until we place our faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us, we are dead in our sins. It is His blood that truly gives us life. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Our hearts are then transformed through the power of His Word. In the Word, we find the remedy for every thing. Psalm 119:80 “Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.” When our hearts are sound in Him, we truly begin to live. “In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.” When we truly possess Wisdom, His attributes will possess us. We can learn so much by observing how Christ conducted Himself with others. He is full of meekness and lowly in heart. Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” The wise are slow to wrath and full of longsuffering. The meekness of Wisdom is to be found within His people. Ephesians 4:1-3 “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Are you walking in meekness today? James 3:13 “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” Bible Reading: Jeremiah 45-46 | Galatians 3 | Proverbs 5 Like many times before, Solomon brings our attention again to the importance of having a strong fear of the Lord.
The Lord is the LORD Jehovah, the one True God, the existing One. We need only have a holy reverence and respect for Him, acknowledging Him in all that we do. If you need confidence today, fear the Lord. Proverbs 14:26 “In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.” If you need healing today, fear the Lord. Proverbs 14:27 “The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” If you need understanding, fear the Lord Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” If you need to find your purpose today, fear the Lord. Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” If you desire to learn something today, fear the Lord. Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” If you desire to be wise today, fear the Lord. Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” Whatever your need or situation today, HE IS the Answer. “A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.” Do you speak truly without speaking of the Truth? As children of God, we must speak the truth while pointing others to Jesus. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” There is power in the Name of Jesus. Saving power. Delivering power. Protecting power. Providing power. John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Through His power we can tell others about the Truth. Though we cannot deliver the soul themselves, they lead them to the One Who is able to do so. Do more than speak the truth today. Speak to others about the Truth. “The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends. He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good. In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.” Much like the poor are often looked down upon, we as Christians are by the wicked world we live in. Though the world may view us as poor we are much richer than they, for our worth is found in Christ. If only they realized how rich we truly are, and that they too can find the same riches in Him. 2 Corinthians 8:9 “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” His riches are found because of His grace. Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” His riches provide everything we need. Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” His riches never run dry. Romans 11:33 “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” When you think you are poor, remember His riches. When you are weak, remember His riches. When you are discouraged, remember His riches. Rest in the riches of Wisdom today. Bible Reading: Jeremiah 39-40 | Colossians 4 | Proverbs 2 Proverbs 14:16-19
“A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident. He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated. The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.” We are not to fear evil; but rather to fear the Lord and depart from evil, for it is then, and only then, that we are truly wise. Proverbs 3:7 “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” Since there is nothing good within us, we cannot look at only ourselves and consider us to be wise whatsoever. If we are to have wisdom, we must yield ourselves to the Wisdom of the Word. Possessing a godly fear of the Lord changes who we are and what we do. We begin to acknowledge evil for what it is, a tool of the devil. We must flee his wicked devices. James 4:6-8 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” When we purposefully avoid evil, we begin to reflect the Wisdom inside of us so that others can see Him, and the understanding we have that He is all we need. Job 28:28 “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Purpose in your heart today to fear the Lord and depart from the evil of the world around you.
